Peter Grauer (born 1946) is the current chairman of Bloomberg L.P.[1].

Peter Grauer was born in 1946[2]. He graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1968 with a degree in English[3], and Harvard University Graduate School of Business Program for Management Development in 1975[4].
Grauer was a Managing Director of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette from 1992 to 2000 when DLJ was acquired by Credit Suisse First Boston. He served as a Managing Director and Senior Partner of CSFB Private Equity until March 2002. He is also a founder of DLJ Merchant Banking Partners and DLJ Investment Partners[1].
Bloomberg
Grauer met Michael Bloomberg in the late 1980s when both men were chauffeuring their daughters to equestrian shows[5].
By 1996, he became a member of the Bloomberg L.P. board of directors and was named Chairman of the Board in March 2001, succeeding Michael R. Bloomberg. He joined the firm full-time in his executive capacities in March 2002[4]. In 2009, he was quoted as saying that he would like Bloomberg to become, "the most influential source of news for the financial and business community." [6]
DaVita
Grauer is the lead director of DaVita, Inc. a Colorado-based healthcare company. He has been with DaVita since 1994.[1]
He is President of the Board of Trustees of the Inner City Scholarship Fund in New York City, Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Directors of The Big Apple Circus and Chairman of the External Advisory Board of the Undergraduate Honors Program and the Johnson Center for Undergraduate Excellence at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.[4]
Grauer is a recipient of the Papal Order of Merit.[4]
